چکیده

The sequencing of the canine genome, combined with additional genomic technologies, has created opportunities for research linking veterinary genomics naturally occurring cancer in dogs. Also, as numerous cancers have features common human cancers, comparative studies can be performed to evaluate use dogs models cancer. There been several reviews but, best our knowledge, there no comprehensive review literature genomics. PubMed and CAB Abstracts databases were searched retrieve relevant using search terms ‘veterinary’, ‘cancer’ or ‘oncology’, ‘genomics’ ‘transcriptomics’. Results manually assessed grouped based on techniques used, type investigated lesions targeted. resulted retrieval 44 transcriptomic studies, most technique employed being hybridization. Across both fields, commonly studied was osteosarcoma. Genomic aberrations often reflected those reported corresponding cancers. Analysis indicated that employing technologies instrumental developing understanding origin, development pathogenesis However, their oncology is at an early phase, appears comparatively little certain types contrast forms. Aberrations detected all tumors tabulated, results osteosarcoma, lymphoma leukemia, mast cell tumor, transmissible venereal tumor urothelial carcinoma discussed detail.

Electrochemotherapy in veterinary oncology.

Electropermeabilization is a method that uses electric field pulses to induce an electrically mediated reorganization of the plasma membrane of cells. Electrochemotherapy combines local or systemic administration of chemotherapeutic drugs such as bleomycin or cisplatin that have poor membrane permeability with electropermeabilization by direct application of electric pulses to the tumors. Precl...

New Frontiers in Schistosoma Genomics and Transcriptomics

Schistosomes are digenean blood flukes of aves and mammals comprising 23 species. Some species are causative agents of human schistosomiasis, the second major neglected disease affecting over 230 million people worldwide. Modern technologies including the sequencing and characterization of nucleic acids and proteins have allowed large-scale analyses of parasites and hosts, opening new frontiers...

Pichia stipitis genomics, transcriptomics, and gene clusters

Genome sequencing and subsequent global gene expression studies have advanced our understanding of the lignocellulose-fermenting yeast Pichia stipitis. These studies have provided an insight into its central carbon metabolism, and analysis of its genome has revealed numerous functional gene clusters and tandem repeats. Specialized physiological traits are often the result of several gene produc...

Comparative Genomics and Transcriptomics of Propionibacterium acnes

The anaerobic gram-positive bacterium Propionibacterium acnes is a human skin commensal that is occasionally associated with inflammatory diseases. Recent work has indicated that evolutionary distinct lineages of P. acnes play etiologic roles in disease while others are associated with maintenance of skin homeostasis. To shed light on the molecular basis for differential strain properties, we c...
